What are you working on? Let's chat...

Just curious to know if anyone is working on fall items now, or are you still working on the last of your summer wardrobe?  I don't have a concrete plan set in stone, as of yet, and I don't know if I will.. I think I tend to do better, when I sew how I feel.  That way I can still keep it fun, but still get a great wardrobe out of the deal..  I have ordered a couple of patterns during the current BMV sale that is still going on, I believe.

This is not a new pattern;however, I
think this style will work into my casual
everyday wear in the fall!

Like, I adore this style of coat, and as soon as saw
the mustard colored coat. I knew I had to make
my first coat! I wanted to make V8346, but
think I want the Butterick more!

All styles of jeans in one!
I love the Trouser, and slim ankle length!

I loved the draping on this dress!

I love all the views, but of course
I love view B with the belt..
Alright Divas, I'll guess I get back to making a muslin of the Colette skirt.
As always, be blessed and nothin' less, and continue to stay fiercely fierce!

  1. I keep telling myself that the smart thing to do would be to start sewing for Fall early. After all retailers are giving us a hint with all the new fall arrival displays. But it is so hard to do while feeling that I am so behind with summer sewing, and with temperatures still in the high 90's and even 100's (I live in the south you know) it's sort of hard to be sitting in here stitching up heavier fabrics. What's your weather like there?

  2. I have to start early,as I am such a slow sewer right now, ugh! I know all to well about the south and the humidity, being from Florida..And that heat is HOT lol! Faye, this heat in Japan, right now is severely hot, at least too me. Normally, around Septemeber it starts to cool off a little.

  3. At this moment, I have only ideas. The weather here is so unpredictable. I'll wait until its actually cold and I have the September Vogue in hand before making any decisions. I like to wear my clothes right after I make them.

  4. Serenity Love Sincere Peace Earth that's sounds like a good plan.Do you sucribe to the Vogue Magazine? I've been thinking about getting a subscription.

  5. I am starting to think about the fall and what I want to wear. I also want to finally make a coat as I've only had it on my list for the past year. With that in mind and the knowledge that that's a piece I want to take my time on, but I also want it done to wear by the colder weather, I am starting to think about transitional pieces. So I started looking at patterns that I've already made that I like but possibly can be worn in the colder months as well, just add a sweater and you're ready to go. I have a few already to go and I'm probably going to make a few more, just in darker colors.

  6. Andrea, big kudos to you! Yes, transition pieces is exactly what I need to do.. And your sewing is superb, and I can't wait to see your coat. I really hope to get in my coat this year, as I finally think I am ready. I do believe I will have to take your lead and make a few tops, or pants that can transition from fall, to winter.. The word of the day is TRANSITION lol thanks a bunch!

  7. I have started on Fall stuff but I find I like wearing wintery clothing so its not too much of a wrench for me!

  8. Stevie, sounds awesome! Are you working on any of the fall collection from any of the Big 4 pattern companies? Would love to know what your picks are! Thanks for stopping by..

  9. Yes I subscribe. And it pays for itself. One non subscription issue is $4. For 12 issues you get a year's worth.

  10. Those are nice picks, Candice!! The new Butterick fall line, right? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pattern with the four different styles of jeans, including trouser style. I don't think I have ever seen a trouser style jean in the Big 4 pattern companies. I haven't committed to my next project yet because I've been scrapbooking, but when the kids start pre-k in September, its gonna be on!!

  11. @ Serenity Love Sincere Peace Earth, that is an awesome deal for the Vogue Subscription..@ Vanessa, I am so excited about the Butterick collection, as most of the patterns seem very wearable in my everyday life.. Both of your little ones will be in pre-k this fall, you go girl! Can't wait to see your new garments..

  12. Great line up of patterns. I am still working with summer garments and tend to wait till the cooler weather comes to start fall sewing. I also want to make a coat this year being that I bought a heavy duty sewing machine to handle thick fabric. Especially after attempting it last year with my other machine and throwing it out of wack and then off for servicing.

  13. Thanks Sheila! I am a slow sewer, and having two little boys. I have to get in where I fit in lol..I am praying that my machine, or at least my other Brother will handle the thick fabric!
