I am so glad to have this sleeveless blazer/vest done. I knew I had to make this blazer this fall, as I've been seeing them pop up everywhere. I love to layer my clothing in the fall, so making this blazer was a no brainer for me. However making this blazer did not come without any hardships, I had an extremely difficult time with the collar instructions. I know the next time I should sew this to simply use my favorite book on sewing jackets, "Jackets for Real People". Seriously y'all Marta Alto is the truth!

I used some type of faux suede fabric that I had in stash, so I can't remember where I purchased this fabric from, but I love it! It feels so soft, yet still gives me that structure that you need to make a blazer... Besides their instructions for the collar, the only other quibble that I had about this pattern was that it did not call for the pockets to be lined. I lined my pockets with leftover bemberg rayon fabric from a previous project.

I read Erica's review on this pattern, and she mentioned that this pattern ran slim through the hips, so I made sure to add more width through the hip area. I made an 16 at the bust and graded to an 18 through the waist and hip area.. Still trying to get rid of this baby weight, but one day at a time, one day at a time :).. I really enjoyed making this vest and have worn it at least twice so far; such a versatile piece. Love it!

Ladies I hope you are having a wonderful week! Be blessed and nothin' less and continue to stay fearlessly fierce.
