Feeling summery in M6957

I'm really am not mad in this picture, but y'all it is hottttt here in
Texas, lol!

So I mentioned in a previous post about having M6957 almost complete, which is completely true; however, I made this dress early Saturday morning for date night with the hubby.. I have a black version that only needs to be hemmed. I must say that I have some serious love going on with this dress! The style being a fit flare just works for my "apple shapeness", is that word? It's fitted in the bust, yet skims over the waist and flares out over the hips, yesssss! I'm telling y'all now that there will be more of these dresses. Can we also talk about how easy and quickly this pattern  comes together, seriously, there are three pattern pieces and a neck binding if you decide to add one.. I did.. I just prefer the look over the turn and stitch...

I made View "C" also included a pic of the binding and the twin
needle hem..

As far as alterations goes, I did add 2" inches to the hem and the dress barely comes to the knee, so definitely check the length. I also added the neck binding, which is a 1 1/2 binding and 12 inches long.. I did change the order of construction for this version, where I sewed the sleeves in flat, saving the back seam for last, in order to fit the neck binding. In my first go I noticed that the neckline in the back gapped; however, when I fit the back seam this eliminated the gapping.. But that meant I had to mess with the topstitching, and binding, ugh.. So, I made sure to save the back seam and neck binding last..  Overall, this pattern is really simple, and comes together quickly.. That's all I have for now ladies, I hope you give this one a go! Now, back to the sewing room I go, have to get baby girls birthday dress complete...Have a great week ladies!
