Review: M7543

Hey y'all! I'm back with a quick little review, which really I wasn't sure if I was going to make a blog post- due to how quick this project is, but here we are, lol. I also want to thank everyone again on the well wishes on winning the McCall's contest, that was such an amazing thing to happen to me!

I opted to make view D

It's no secret that off the shoulder is trending, or still trending really hard since last year and I'm lovin' it! This pattern is McCall's 7543, I believe this pattern was apart of the Spring collection, and of course, by now there are lovely versions everywhere of this awesome pattern.

Staring contest with the stranger who insisted on watching me snap pictures, so staring
show down ensued LOL!

I used an African print fabric that I had been hoarding for sometime now, and I'm glad to have finally gotten a chance to use some of this print up already.

I made the large,as that's the size that I had in my stash prior to dropping a few pounds ( almost 40 now, thank you Jesus!) I just took a deeper seam allowance, no harm, no foul, this pattern is very forgiving in that aspect. I believe the view that I sewed, view D had only three pattern pieces, so for me, in this moment is right up my alley, lol.

As far as alterations, I had to add length and could have added a little more, but honey "she is working hard for these legs, lol!  I added 1 1/2 in order to make a 1" hem, as more than likely will wear this dress with flats anyhow, but went with heels for the pictures on this one for dramatics, LOL!

So, any beginner would not have any problems with this one, especially if you're comfortable with elastic, as there is an elastic casing for the shoulders and arms. On another note, y'all, I have fallen in love with Zumba and Turbo Kick, it's one of my main reasons that I have been successful in losing weight this time :). Also cleaning up my diet, not dieting but being mindful of the foods I'm eating and tracking my calories has been tremendous.

I wish I could say that I started on this journey willingly, but it was more due to finding out that I am a diabetic. There are so many things in this world and in this journey that we call life that are out of our control; however, being proactive about our health is something that we can do.  That's all I have for now, but I do have another project complete, woo hoo!
